Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was paying attention to Robert Griffin III’s touchdown run this past Sunday, and offered some words of advice for the rookie quarterback in advance of this week’s matchup.
From the NY Daily News:
“Don’t bring it to my side,” Pierre-Paul said. “Go the other way.”
“Trust me, we chase quarterbacks all the time,” Pierre-Paul said. “We turn and run to the ball, no matter what. He may get past us and zoom right past us, but trust me we’re right behind him. You’ve got to respect that, too. It’s not all about the speed. We’ve got guys, all 11 guys that can run to the ball very quick.
“You’d be surprised. Very surprised.”
Coach Tom Coughlin offered a little more credit for the speed of RGIII during yesterday’s conference call with the media.
“This will be the second — third, actually — option-oriented attack we would have to try to defend,” he said. “So we’ve had some experience with it. Have we worked against a guy that’s as fast and elusive as Robert is? No.”
As for the man himself, RGIII was a little more cautious with his words during his presser yesterday. He praised the abilities of Trent Williams and Tyler Polumbus to keep defenders at bay, but said that he knows his first NFC East matchup will be a challenge.
“By no means will I say those guys won’t touch me, but it’ll definitely be fun to get out there and play with the type of talent that they have,” he said.
“It’ll be fun to do something different out there, play a division foe,” he continued. “The New York Giants are Super Bowl champions, and I look forward to it.”

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Trevor Booker, on his style of basketball:
“When I get back on the court, I just like to, I call it, ‘Go crazy.’ Rebound. Just hustle. Bring energy. It pumps the team up, gets the crowd into it. And I think we’re a better team like that.”
