Morning Pixels: More Wizards paper bag heads

November 20, 2012

There are a million ways to sum up the weird mixture of anger and apathy coursing through the sad, sad bodies of Wizards fans this week. Not sure that anything does the job quite as effectively as these images, though.

The Wizards have been one of the least successful franchises in pro sports for three decades. And they’ve never started a season worse than this. If they don’t start winning, there will be more paper bag heads. Oh yes, there will be more.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER

* The A1 story on Maryland leaving the ACC.

* Tom McMillen absolutely shreds Maryland’s decision-making process.

 * Students react to the news.

* Wizards game story. There is humor here, I think. Or something.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT

McMillen, from Mike Wise’s column:

“To totally disregard the athletes and have this crammed down everyone’s throat over a weekend is just awful. This is the kind of thing that can be the tipping point for uncompensated athletes in money-making sports, who are left without any say and are basically becoming indentured servants to big schools.”

WHAT TO WATCH TODAY

Maryland hosts Lafayette at 8 on Comcast SportsNet. Georgetown faces Indiana at 10 on ESPN. All TV/Radio listings are here.

HANSBROUGH AND VESELY

This will make you feel better. Tyler Hansbrough tosses Jan Vesely around as if he were made of straw.

TERPS AND B1G

A great Diamondback graphic on Maryland in the Big Ten.
