Why Caps plan holders received an HR certification magazine

February 4, 2013

Weird Question: Why did some Caps season-ticket holders recently receive a random magazine called ‘Certified?’

Equally weird answer: The team’s exclusive provider for direct mail correspondence, Global Printing, “incorrectly used the Capitals mailing list instead of the one provided by a completely unrelated company, the HR Certification Institute,” according to a team spokesman. This led to Caps fans receiving copies of a magazine called “Certified” from the Institute, which is “an internationally recognized, independent certifying organization for the human resource profession.”

“We apologize for the inconvenience and want to reassure fans that the team does not sell or provide client information to third parties,” the spokesman further explained.

Bear in mind that the HRCI is “the global leader in developing rigorous exams to demonstrate mastery and real-world application of forward-thinking HR practices, policies and principles.” So maybe Caps season ticket holders can learn something if they give the magazine a chance.

Thus concludes this weird update about the HR Certification Institute.
