Every time we post about the Redskins team name issue, some of you holler about a perceived liberal agenda. As Dan has said many times, when a public figure speaks out in support of keeping the name, we’ll happily post about it.
Hey, look! A Redskins player is speaking out in support of keeping the name!
People are overly sensitive these days…the Redskins should never change their name.

If only people were equally offended by our national debt. #Redskins — Jordan Black (@jordanblack78) February 11, 2013
Now, because it’s Twitter, the response was quick and fierce. But Black spent several hours engaging followers — both critics and supporters — in intelligent and respectful conversation on the matter. For instance:
@unsportsmenbigj @tomcblockI’m all about discussion. I don’t believe the organization or its fans are using “redskin” to degrade anyone

Also:
@jdc5000 I’m not aware of it being a racial slur. Feel free to cite historical examples of its use in that context. I’m open
— Jordan Black (@jordanblack78) February 11, 2013
And:
@nick_ncsu I respect your opinion, although you only think my opinion is ignorant because it differs from yours.
