DeAngelo Hall plays basketball with General Assembly members

Tuesday was sports day for Virginia State Senator L. Louise Lucas. First, she introduced Olympic superstar Gabby Douglas to the Senate, and then she recognized her well-dressed nephew, DeAngelo Hall. Via the Richmond Times-Dispatch:

Lucas also called senators’ attention to the gallery to recognize her nephew — Washington Redskins defensive back DeAngelo Hall — who volunteered to coach the Senate in its charity basketball game Tuesday night against the rival team from the House of Delegates.

Now, apparently somewhere along the line, Hall decided he would be a player-coach. From Reader Andrew:

I work as a lobbyist in the Virginia General Assembly, and every year during the General Assembly session in Richmond, there is a round of charity basketball games. One game features the Governor and his staff against lobbyists, and the other features the House of Delegates against the Senators. The games this year were held [Tuesday] night, and DeAngelo Hall made an appearance….He scored the Senate’s first five points, despite not starting, and six of their first seven.

The games were held at the Siegel Center, and raised money for the Massey Cancer Center. Above, it’s Hall, posing with teammate Chap Petersen, who posted the image on his Facebook page. “No wonder you lost, he couldn’t cover anyone,” someone obviously commented, because people are the worst.
