Via my pal Nate Ryan at USA Today, who witnessed the late-night scene.
Someone on Johnson’s crew — no one was fessing up — suggested the unconventional move of driving the team’s hauler onto the frontstretch for a victory photo.Within 15 minutes, several props, two motorcycles and a photographer had been rounded up for the impromptu video shoot, which also featured Washington Nationals players and Daytona 500 fans Jayson Werth and Adam LaRoche.
Wait, let me try again.
Johnson discussed the video shoot at length the following day. Via ESPN.com:
“No broken wrists, I survived. We’ll see if it’s worthy to put out there but clearly there’s been some discussion about it so we might be forced to put it out before long,” he said. “It was really impromptu. All of sudden there’s a transporter, music, a camera guy. OK, the music was in my head. We even had some surprise guests with Jayson Werth and Adam LaRoche in the mix. Baseball players take it to a whole other level.”
Ok. Put it out there. Even if you hate the Harlem Shake, you agree that the public has a right to this footage.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER
* A terrific read on Drake LaRoche, full-time resident of NatsTown.
* The Wizards won again, again thanks largely to Bradley Beal’s excellence.
* Alex Semin comes back to D.C., as Troy Brouwer throws verbal bombs in his direction.
QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Among the highlights of Brouwer’s jabs about Semin:
“Some nights you didn’t even know if he was gonna come to the rink. It’s tough to play alongside guys like those because you don’t know what you’re gonna get out of ‘em..”
WHAT TO WATCH TODAY

PHOTO OF THE NIGHT
Yet another photo of Jayson Werth at the Daytona 500. I won’t ever stop with this. This time, he’s posing with NASCAR driver Justin Allgaier.
TWEET OF THE NIGHT
Don’t think it’ll be a problem in TOR, but given the Wale incident, thought I should share: Phil Chenier does NOT know who Drake is #wizards

More hijinks between the Raptors and Wizards and their announce teams? Nah, didn’t happen.

TAYLOR HICKS LOVES OVECHKIN
Caps blogger Ian Oland went to Vegas, met Taylor Hicks, and got the former American Idol winner to express his great desire to attend a Caps game. “I’d love to do it. Let’s make it happen,” Hicks said.
A GONDOLA IN GEORGETOWN?
Here’s something weird: a suggestion of a sky gondola crossing the Potomac near Georgetown. “The idea would be to better connect Rosslyn with Georgetown University. Stringing a system between those to points could potentially move a great deal of individuals. Georgetown estimates that its GU-Rosslyn GUTS bus route carries over 700,000 riders a year.”
