The best quote from James Madison’s CAA tournament victory Monday night wasn’t hard to identify.
“Like LeBron James said when he won his first championship, it’s about damn time,” forward Rayshawn Goins said after the win, via The Breeze. “It’s been 19 years since JMU nation won the championship. Words can’t describe the feeling.”
There was surprising competition for the best photo, though. And because I have an inexplicable number of Twitter followers with an intense allegiance to JMU, I will provide 10 of them here, for their benefit. Each of them is required to share this link with at least three (3) (III) friends.
I’ll start with the above photo of Ron Curry, because it’s a gorgeous shot.
There’s also a certain beauty to this shot from the school’s photo gallery. I’d encourage you to check out the entire gallery. Anyhow, a court-rusher in a crowd of purple wearing a banana head? Yes, it was weird.
Also via the school is this shot of the mascot, Duke Dog, lifted in a sea of happiness. JMU people have the weirdest passion about their dog mascot. I know not why.
More Duke Dog, via @cejohnston22.
And more emotion, from the AP. That’s Curry again.
I’m also a sucker for A1 newspaper images the day after momentous sports victories. Here’s the Harrisonburg Daily News-Record, via the Newseum.
And you can never go wrong with court-rushing fans, in the act of court-rushing. The mustachioed man has never been in a bigger hurry in his life.
And then three more shots, of players in mid-celebration, via the school. I love them all. Now go look at the rest.
