Caps rookie defenseman Steve Oleksy has been a surprise find for the Caps this season, repeatedly digging deep to find something of value, exploring nooks and crannies that others have ignored, picking his spots while scaring the snot out of opponents, breaking through the crust of tradition while excavating something from deep inside himself.
Also, he picked his nose on national television Sunday night.
“Big win!!!” he later wrote on Twitter. “And big shout out to the camera guy for a sick action shot. Better to pick than to have a booger hanging eh?“
Since this was an NBC Sports Network game, of course, Oleksy earned national plaudits.
