Morning Pixels: RGIII, Michael Phelps on John Wall’s 47 points

John Wall had a magical Monday evening at Verizon Center, carrying a skeleton crew of teammates to a home win against a Western Conference playoff team while finishing with a remarkable line of 47 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, a steal, a blocked shot and a pair of three-pointers, with just 2 turnovers.

His 47 points were, of course, a career high, and exactly half of what the Grizzlies managed.

Everyone notices a night like that, “everyone” in this case including the NFL’s rookie of the year, a zillion-time gold medalist, a world-famous talk show host, a Pro Bowl left tackle, and Jan Vesely.

That’s a lot of A-listers right there. And Jan Vesely.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER

* Wall Wall Wall Wall Wall Wall Wall. Wall.

* Boz tackles Georgetown’s “stunning streak of big-stage disasters,” posits that JTIII “may have to reevaluate, tweak and adapt the teachings of his Princeton coach and mentor.”

* Feinstein says George Mason “officially became part of the college athletics game known as ‘Show me the money,’ although unlike some participants, the school’s leadership was honest about what it was doing.”

* The Maryland men prepare for Alabama, while the Maryland women rout Michigan State.

This is why no one should ever take a day off. Or a night, either.
