John Wall had a magical Monday evening at Verizon Center, carrying a skeleton crew of teammates to a home win against a Western Conference playoff team while finishing with a remarkable line of 47 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, a steal, a blocked shot and a pair of three-pointers, with just 2 turnovers.
His 47 points were, of course, a career high, and exactly half of what the Grizzlies managed.
Everyone notices a night like that, “everyone” in this case including the NFL’s rookie of the year, a zillion-time gold medalist, a world-famous talk show host, a Pro Bowl left tackle, and Jan Vesely.

PASSOVER JOKE OF THE NIGHT BY ME
Repeating your own joke is really terrible. Apologies.
I mean, if John Wall had stopped at 40, dayenu.

JOURNALISM NOTE OF THE NIGHT
This is why no one should ever take a day off. Or a night, either.
Life is cruel. @mrmichaellee finally takes a day off, and Wall drops a career-high 47.
