Wizards practice around leaky roof in Brooklyn

When the Wizards visited Brooklyn in March, they arrived to a court full of randomly placed trashcans.

“I was wondering during shootaround why they had a bucket on the floor with a towel,” said Garrett Temple, in the episode of Wizards Magazine below. “I’ve only seen that for one reason — when there’s leaks in houses or a building.”

Sure enough, the new arena had some leaks going on, and the powers that be had gone with the trusty trash-can method of water collection. Kevin Seraphin and Emeka Okafor made the best of a wet situation.

“I said [to Okafor], like, ‘Let’s make a pick and roll. Let’s make a pick and roll,’” Seraphin laughed. “Then he played like it was a pick and roll. It was funny.”

Bradley Beal, witnessing the improvised drill, decided that perhaps it wasn’t the best use of time.

“I saw him going over like it was a pick,” he said. “But he’d never be in that situation, so maybe he needs to not work on that.”

I mean, that’s a pretty big assumption for Beal to make. How does he know a trashcan won’t ever set a pick during a game? Prepare for everything, I always say.
