Lindsey Covert becomes new Nats in-game host

I noted last month that longtime Nats in-game host Clint Khoury would have a reduced role this season due to outside work obligations. Without much fanfare, many Nats fans were introduced to his replacement in recent days.

“Lindsey Covert is the Washington Nationals in-game host, hosting the Inside Pitch Live pregame show as well as many in-game promotions and other Nationals events,” a team spokeswoman wrote, in response to my query.

“Ms. Covert joined the Washington Nationals from the Boston Red Sox Spring Training facility where she assisted in the operations of media production and acted as the public address announcer for the Boston Red Sox 2013 Fantasy Camp. Covert graduated from West Chester University where she was the sports director for WCUR, and currently resides in Maryland.”

While this is a seemingly minor detail, many of you will spend 40 or 50 evenings with Covert this summer and possibly beyond.
