Drown your baseball sorrows with Nats haikus

(Matt Slocum/AP)

You’re really not supposed to have to spend the long dark hours after yet another disappointing baseball loss comforting yourself with poetry until, like, mid-August.

But this Nationals season is breaking many of the rules thus far, and so it should perhaps come as no surprise to learn that Nats fans are already writing haikus about what’s going on with their favorite team.

Many of them are dark, as haikus go. But others signify hope, in the sense that even when your baseball team is mediocre, you can still spend many hours at work writing poems about them instead of working.

Please offer your own contributions in the comments section below. Many of them.
