Davey Johnson on Bryce Harper: ‘Have you ever seen him jog to first?’

June 27, 2013

Bryce Harper didn’t exactly take it easy during his first rehab game Tuesday night with the Potomac Nationals. On his first at-bat Harper doubled to left field, rounding first at full speed.

“I knew he was gonna do that,” said Davey Johnson. “Have you ever seen him jog to first? If he hit the gap, did you think we was going to stop at first? No. He was gonna try to hit second.

“Hopefully he’s fine.”

Harper went yard in his second rehab game Wednesday night. Seems pretty fine.
