The Nats have worn many hats this season — from their standard road and standard home, to their new home alternates, to their Memorial Day camo offerings. Here’s yet another one: the July 4 Stars & Stripes model.

The Nats, like all MLB teams, will wear these New Era caps on Thursday, “part of MLB’s ongoing recognition of veterans, active duty military members and their families,” according to a news release.

The team will be selling a limited number of these hats at the main clubhouse store, and at the New Era Store between sections 130 and 131 on Thursday. All the proceeds go to Welcome Back Veterans, “a program that addresses the needs of returning veterans and their families.”

Uniwatch has links to all the MLB July 4 Caps, with a bit of commentary: “In honor of this solemn occasion, MLB has taken one of the world’s nicest flags and spray-painted its pattern onto a bunch of ugly caps.”
