What it looks like when Roger Bernadina does a shark chomp

We’ve seen Nats coaches make the Roger Bernadina shark chomp gesture. We’ve seen teammates do the same. And, again and again, we’ve seen it from fans. (Jeez, that last link makes me wistful for 2012, incidentally.)

I don’t recall, though, ever seeing Bernadina engage in a shark chomp himself. UNTIL NOW.

Yes, that’s right, at the end of a recent interview with Monumental Network’s John Walton — who has been covering a bit of baseball during the Caps’ offseason — Bernadina offered an unprompted chomping for the camera. He has a sort of strange technique. Very open-fingered, with a diagonal angle. Somewhat reminiscent of Jayson Werth’s example.

UPDATE: Many smarties are telling me that Bernadina does a shark chomp during the video that plays before his plate appearances this season. I’ve evidently never watched that. Was probably doing important things every time it came on. Like checking Twitter.
