Bryce Harper’s All-Star Game cleats pay tribute to New York (Updated)

Last year, Bryce Harper made his All-Star appearance in a pair of gold cleats that Harper himself said had a “Vegas feel to ’em.” He hasn’t hit the field for this year’s festivities, but a photo of the cleats he could be sporting has been circulating.

This year’s version (above, via @TopSportsGear) are blue with orange highlights, perhaps in tribute to the 2013 host team, the New York Mets. They also have Harper’s Twitter handle included in the design, near the toe.

They’re not as “LeBron-esque” as last year’s, but perhaps it’s because the most outrageous part of them isn’t the outside. Darren Rovell tweeted this photo of the sock liner found inside Harper’s All-Star cleats. Start spreading the news.
