Ron Harper pitching to his son in last night’s Home Run Derby made for a great story, this touching one from Adam Kilgore in particular.

“I wouldn’t trade it for nothing,” Ron Harper said of the opportunity. “It’s a dream come true.”

The elder Harper threw around 120 pitches, including the one in the video below that tagged his son on the foot, cracking them both up.

“I think he got him. That’s pretty funny,” said Nomar Garciaparra on the broadcast. “What’s Bryce Harper gonna do? Is he gonna go rush his dad for hitting him?”

“Well, he’s worried about the shoes,” joked Chris Berman, as Ron Harper took a minute to compose himself. “Those shoes are so nice, you don’t wanna scuff ’em.”
