Comcast SportsNet debuts new football music video

September 9, 2013

If you’re a regular viewer of Comcast SportsNet’s pre- and postgame Redskins coverage — and aren’t we all — you’ll notice at least one new feature this season: a music video.

The network put out a release last week, announcing that Potomac native Maggie Rose and the network collaborated on an original song — “Get Ya Game On” — and video, which will be used in both Redskins and Ravens coverage this season. Rose’s performance “will serve as the opening video and theme song for Redskins Kickoff and Ravens Kickoff,” the network’s pregame shows, the release said. The song will also be featured in the post-game shows and in other content.

The video actually premiered Thursday during the Ravens Kickoff show, but I didn’t watch that, because I don’t care about the Ravens. The Redskins-related debut is Monday night.

“We loved the song,” CSN’s Joe Yasharoff told PressBox’s Dave Hughes. “It was everything we had hoped it would be: original, catchy and anthemic.”

“When Comcast SportsNet gave me the chance to write and perform a song about football season in all its glory, I was pumped because I have great memories of what makes this time of year so great,” Rose said in the release.
