Bryce Harper returned to the Nats lineup on Wednesday after taking some time off for inflammation in his hip, and in a pregame sitdown with Comcast SportsNet, he admitted that his break wasn’t difficult to handle.
“Not really tough,” he said. “I had to do what I had to do. Everybody was supportive of that and everybody came out here and played like they knew how. They didn’t miss me at all in that lineup.”
Harper’s return was less than stellar, as he went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in a frustrating night. So frustrating that another bat lost its life for the cause. After striking out in the eighth inning, Harper returned to the dugout went hammertime on his lumber. (via Nats Enquirer)
Kind of impressive that not one of the three people in the vicinity even flinched. I’d be under the bench trying to hide in a helmet.
