Nats wearing Navy hats for batting practice

There has been a Twitter movement among fans to get the stands filled with blue and gold in honor of the lives lost in yesterday’s shootings at the Navy Yard. The Nats players are on board, thanks to a special gift handed out in the clubhouse.

 

Bryce Harper tweeted his hat, encouraging the blue and gold movement. Players wore the hats during batting practice before today’s first game of the doubleheader (The Post’s James Wagner grabbed the above shot of Craig Stammen and Ross Detwiler).
