Remember this ‘Are You In?’ marketing campaign?

Four years is an eternity in NFL years, and virtually every franchise has gone from good to bad or vice versa within such a spell.

And you can go back through any team’s promotional campaign history to find ideas that flopped, themes that became outdated, slogans that later seemed ridiculous.

Still, because it’s that kind of a day, check out this 30-second Redskins ad for club seats, released before the 2010 season. It does not hold up well. The text:

“The pieces are in place. The architect has arrived. The leader is in command. And the franchise quarterback is in the huddle.”

The leader (Mike Shanahan) is no longer in command, the franchise quarterback (Donovan McNabb) has turned over, and the architect (Bruce Allen) appears destined for a different role in the near future.
