Navy giving away 100 David Robinson rookie cards

January 17, 2014

Former Spurs center David Robinson is not only a basketball legend, but he’s the only Navy player to ever make the NBA. Thanks to a generous donation by a U.S Naval Academy graduate, kids attending next weekend’s Navy game will get to take home a piece of Robinson History.

It’s a pretty cool giveaway. It’s also a good opportunity for a history lesson when your kid inevitably asks: “Mom, Dad? Who’s David Robinson?”

I have no idea of the value of these cards or how the donor ended up with 100 of them. If you know the generous benefactor (or are him/her), e-mail us at sarah.kogod@washpost.com or dan.steinberg@washpost.com.
