The Duke-Maryland rivalry: a trailer

Later this week, PostTV will release a documentary look at the two years that defined the Maryland-Duke basketball rivalry, at the beginning of the last decade.

For now, here’s a trailer that previews the film. Among the highlights:

“It went as far as death threats,” Duke’s Nate James says in the piece.

“I did get hit in the back of the head with a nine-volt battery one night,” Bob Harris, Duke’s radio voice, says. “I think they were throwing it at the referee; they just had bad aim.”

“Maryland fans were a little bit more….disrespectful, I think, probably,” a laughing Steve Blake says. “They were a little bit more rowdy, a little crazy. They were nuts. And I loved them for it.”

“For about five or six years running, there were no games that were better than those Duke-Maryland games,” Michael Wilbon says. “Because they weren’t games; they were crusades.”

And there’s also a bit of Rock n Roll Part 2′s “Hey, you suck!” refrain. For the old timers.
