Bradley Beal recently got a visit at Verizon Center from a pint-size challenger. Young Grant wanted to play the Wizards guard in a classic game of H-O-R-S-E.

“He came down, didn’t even introduce himself,” Beal said.  “Just said, ‘I’ma beat you today.’ ”

Despite some big talk, Grant wasn’t able to take down the Wizards guard.

“I thought I was gonna beat him, but … no,” he said.

Beal, who clearly doesn’t believe in letting kids win, said that big talk forced him to step up.

“I’m not the biggest H-O-R-S-E fan, because somehow I always lose,” Beal said. “But when you talk trash I get a little intimidated and I have to step up my game.”

As for Grant, apparently the trash talk doesn’t end just because the game is over.

“I kept teasing him when he was missing those shots,” he said, shaking his head. “And when he kept air-balling. … You shouldn’t air ball if you’re a pro.”
