Maryland ticket curse continues with Charles Mitchell

During college football season, we noted a disturbing angle to Maryland’s season. Three current players — Stefon Diggs, Dexter McDougle and C.J. Brown — were pictured on the tickets sent to Maryland season ticket holders. All three suffered serious injuries during the campaign — season-ending injuries for Diggs and McDougle, and a serious enough malady to keep Brown out of parts of two games.

Anyhow, you might recall that Maryland forward Charles Mitchell was at the center of some drama Tuesday night. Via Prewitt:

Maryland sophomore forward Charles Mitchell was removed from Tuesday night’s game against Virginia Tech and sent to the locker room by Coach Mark Turgeon just before halftime.

Mitchell was seen exchanging heated words with assistant Scott Spinelli before yanking his jersey off as he walked through the tunnel. He spent much of the second half in the locker room with special assistant Juan Dixon before returning to the bench, where he sat at the end, wearing warmups, for the rest of the game.

Well, you can probably guess who was pictured on the Terps’ tickets Tuesday night.
