Reports have been circulating for weeks now about John Wall and Martell Webster’s new introductory routine, in which Webster pitches a fake baseball, and Wall crushes it with a fake bat and then pimps it for a moment at imaginary home plate, and then Wall dances just a smidge and people laugh.
Martell Webster mimed pitch, John Wall mimed homerun swing. Did wiggle with Garrett Temple & ran down tunnel of teammates. #wizards loose— Michael Lee (@MrMichaelLee) March 14, 2014
Wall and Martell mimic a little ″pitch-and-smack-a-homer” thing as John’s announced during starting lineups. Not sure, is this new?— Bullets Forever (@BulletsForever) March 15, 2014
I hadn’t seen it, though, until now. So even though it apparently debuted during back-to-back wins over Orlando and Brooklyn, I have to show it to you following a 1-3 road trip that has some fans glum again. So try to separate the road trip from the fact that this is an excellent way to introduce yourself before a game.
Also, kind of amazing that Wall would willingly invite comparisons to his own pitching performance.
Also, have to hope that Colin Cowherd doesn’t get upset.
