‘Interactive wall’ will mask construction site at Nats Park

Site of the expanded team store.

The Nats are moving and expanding their main team store, but you probably already knew that. With no set date for when the move will be complete, the more interesting relocation news from Thursday’s media tour concerns the plans for the temporary red plywood wall that separates the main concourse from the construction going on behind it.

The wall to your left as you enter the park through the center field gate will be adorned with the Nationals’ 2014 slogan: “Nothing But Natitude.” The longer wall beneath the parking garage banners will feature ample photo opportunities, including a growth chart of 6-foot-8 pitcher Doug Fister, an image of Wilson Ramos crouching behind the plate, and images of other players with personalized slogans based on the “Nothing But Natitude” campaign.

You may remember that the corner area behind the wall in the photo above is where fans could pose for photos with the Racing Presidents after the Presidents Race. This year, fans can meet the Rushmores & Taft across from the New Era store in section 131.

A few other notes from Thursday…

Ladies Boutique Store to Open

The Nationals are adding a new team store with merchandise tailored for female fans behind section 141 and it’s expected to be ready for Saturday’s exhibition game.

Nationals Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Valerie J. Camillo said the new store will offer more than the pink-and-shrink approach to merchandise for female fans, including golf polos, yoga pants and other workout gear.

Concession Stand Upgrades

Concession stands throughout the park now feature digital menu boards, making it easy for the Nats to display special promotions such as $1 hot dogs. Select concession stands were redesigned to include additional points of sale and eCash-only lines for season plan holders who load money onto their Ultimate Ballpark Access Card.

Promotional Items at All Gates

You don’t have to enter Nationals Park through the center field gate to receive a giveaway this season. Promotional items, including seven bobbleheads, will be distributed at all gates.
