I thought I’d put them all in the same place. Although probably no one will click on an “Upcoming D.C. sports events” headline. So please send this to your friends.
Battle of the Beltway
The annual charity basketball game between the Redskins and the Ravens
Orioles will take place March 29 at Comcast Center. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Team Loriana Happy Hour
Santana Moss, Craig Laughlin, Ryan Kerrigan, Kirk Cousins, Al Koken, Chick Hernandez, Niles Paul, Joe Beninati, Alan May, and a host of other D.C. sports personalities will be at Roof Bethesda Monday the 31st from 6-9 for a charity fundraiser supporting a local woman’s fight against Leukemia. There’s a $25 donation at the door.

Jews and Baseball
David Elfin, Phil Hochberg, Jane Leavy, and Aviva Kempner will talk about Jews and Baseball, in D.C. and beyond, on April 3 from noon to 1 at the Lillian & Albert Small Jewish Museum, located at 3rd and G. Peanuts, cracker jacks, and additional light refreshments will served. Kosher dietary laws observed. There’s a $10 suggested donation. You have to register in advance, either online or at 202-789-0900.
Capital Soccer Classic
On April 8, the U.S. Soccer Foundation and Politico will host the second Capital Soccer Classic, raising money for Soccer for Success, a free afterschool program that uses soccer to address children’s health issues and delinquency. The event will include Members of Congress (including Rep. Hanabusa, Rep. Kuster, Rep. McIntyre, Rep. Paulsen, Rep. Reichert, Rep. Swalwell, Rep. Van Hollen, and Rep. Young), and former U.S. National team players, including John Harkes and Ben Olsen. The game is at 6:30 at RFK Stadium. Admission is free; see more here.
Big Train Celebrity Softball Classic
The third annual game will be held at Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda on April 12 at 7. There are rides, games, giveaways, autographs, an auction, and free food for the first 500 people. Chris Cooley will be the player-coach for the media team, which includes Fred Smoot, Chick Hernandez, Mike Wise, Grant Paulsen, Lindsay Murphy, Dianna Russini and many others. The athletes team includes Ryan Kerrigan, Lorenzo Alexander, Kai Forbath, Nick Sundberg, Antwaan Randle El, Perry Riley, Juan Dixon, Byron Mouton, Ali Krieger, and many others.
