The Nationals love playing on Hump Day. With their 3-2 win over the Dodgers two days ago, the Nats improved to 6-0 in games played on Wednesday this season.
Over the course of a 162-game season, these types of streaks happen. In 2012, the Nationals won eight consecutive Thursday games and seven consecutive Monday games. In 2006, Washington won nine consecutive Sunday games. In 2007, the Nats lost on eight consecutive Fridays. Orioles fans may remember that Baltimore lost 15 consecutive games on Sunday in 2008.
Historically, Wednesday is the third-most-likely day for a Nationals win. From the start of the 2005 season through Wednesday’s win, Washington’s best winning percentage is on Thursday, followed by Sunday.
And if that’s not already more than you wanted to know about the Nationals’ performance on a particular day, here’s their daily won-loss record by season.
