If I had to guess, I would say the three most famous Redskins fans in the world are Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Durant and Matthew McConaughey. This list, I think, presupposes that no world leaders are Redskins fans, which I believe to be true. I also don’t know how I’d order those three men. Needless to say, they’re all quite famous.
And they all seem to have close ties to the team. Durant was on the sideline for a game last year. Earnhardt helped host Robert Griffin III at Richmond this spring. And now McConaughey will watch a movie with RGIII and the Redskins in Ashburn next month.
Join the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, Redskins Players and Academy Award Winner Matthew McConaughey in an evening to celebrate the Washington Redskins 2013 Walter Payton Man of the Year, Alfred Morris.
Enjoy a fun, family friendly evening of movies selected by Alfred Morris, Matthew McConaughey and his teammates! Get your tickets now, before they are all gone!
The information says that “you’ll need to sign up to find out what the movies are,” but the cheapest ticket is $200, and I don’t think my expense report would clear, so your guess is as good as mine. The event is June 4 at the Alamo Drafthouse in Ashburn. The next day, you can probably expect a post with McConaughey selfies.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to keep up, Earnhardt dropped a Hail to the Redskins reference on ESPN.
