Don’t blame Giants fan Hugh Jackman for destruction of RFK Stadium in new X-Men movie

Hugh Jackman spent Tuesday at ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., headquarters to promote his new X-Men movie,  “Days of Future Past.” You know, the one with the scene where Magneto destroys RFK Stadium.

During an interview on “SportsCenter,” Jackman, a New York Giants fan, was asked if he had anything to do with the decision to obliterate the Redskins’ former home.

“Pure coincidence,” said Jackman, who plays Wolverine. “That was actually a decision that was made during the filming. One of the guys came up with that idea actually. A friend of the director’s came up with that idea. So it was very cool, it’s an iconic kind of bit of the film. The action is amazing in it.”

So there you go. Maybe we’ll know more about why Magneto levitates RFK after the movie hits theaters on Friday.

Jackman did a live chat with the New York Daily News on Wednesday and was asked who would win a fight between Wolverine and Hulk.

“Maybe I’m biased, but Wolverine wins every time,” Jackman said. “Although I don’t think it would be a knockout – it would be a points decision in the end. I can’t see either of them giving up.”

Robert Griffin III would respectfully disagree.
