Undrafted free agent wideout Jerry Rice Jr. — yes, the son of the NFL’s all-time leading receiver — announced via Instagram that he has signed a contract with the Redskins.
Rice, who finished his college career at UNLV after playing sparingly in four years at UCLA, tried out with the Ravens and 49ers earlier this year.
Via Rice’s Instagram: Just blessed… This is an amazing day and I’m excited to get back to work to help the redskins get back to the promised land. They gave me an opportunity and best believe they will get 110% out of me! Thank you for everybody who believed in me when it was dark.. This is for y’all #Washington#Redskins #NFL #Signed #Blessed #Cantbelieveit
The Redskins released cornerback Blake Sailors to make room on the roster for Rice.
This by far best day of my life….. Right now… But the grind never stops…. I gotta keep pushing can’t be content.. Never will be

Rice’s Hall of Fame dad averaged 98 receiving yards per game in seven games against the Redskins.
