John Wall’s back is now part of Birdland

We’ve learned this year that several unexpected places are a part of Birdland. The Tidal Basin. The University of Delaware. And now, John Wall’s back.

Yes, Wall was at Camden Yards for the final game before the all-star break. And he was there in his best orange and black finery.

Brooks Laich, of course, once threw out a first pitch in Baltimore while wearing Orioles gear, but he has a fine reason, having been named after Brooks Robinson.

Wall’s connection was less clear, although he tweeted several times about Cal Ripken.

Either way, it was a big weekend for connections between the Wizards and Orioles. The Wizards, as you might have heard, signed Paul Pierce. And Pierce married the daughter of Tito Landrum, who helped propel the Orioles to the 1983 World Series title with the game-winning home run in the final game of the American League Championship Series.
