Twitter adventures of the Redskins on the road to training camp

With training camp kicking off Thursday, most of the Redskins have either arrived in Richmond or are sitting in traffic en route. Nose tackle Chris Neild’s journey to camp featured an exciting — and almost terrible — start.

Until Neild comments further on his good fortune, I’m going to imagine that his interaction with the officer went something like this:

Neild: “I’m sorry, sir, I was just on my way to training ca–”

Officer: “Hey, aren’t you that guy from ‘American Muscle’?”

Neild: “Well, yeah, but I also–”

Officer: “Man, I love that show. Here’s a warning. Be on your way.”

Teammate Ryan Clark encountered an entirely different problem.

Clark’s followers responded with recommendations, but judging by the safety’s tweets on Wednesday, none of them worked out.

Trent Williams set off for camp in a fresh T-shirt and the following message posted to Instagram: “Off to Richmond va. The grind is back #silverback #httr #camplife.”

Pierre Garcon tweeted for everyone who has spent time on 95 South…

Kirk Cousins will arrive in the coolest ride at camp…

And Robert Griffin III and his teammates are just generally excited for the return of football…

Chris Baker: Made it to Richmond God is good my 6th NFL camp wow I’m getting old lol #ready4war #httr #swaggytime

Swaggytime, indeed.
