The Military Bowl is back in Annapolis for a second consecutive year, but there will be college football action at RFK Stadium on Sept. 13 when Howard and Morehouse meet in the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic.

The Bison, who opened their season on Thursday with a 41-0 loss at Akron and travel to Rutgers this week, have won six consecutive games against Morehouse, including a 27-16 triumph last season. Morehouse, which competes in Division II, kicks off its season on Saturday.

The Morehouse-Howard rivalry dates back to 1923 and the HBCU foes have met in the Nation’s Classic in each of the last four years. Two new opponents will be announced for next year’s Classic.

This year’s game is part of a four-day series of events, including symposiums on Thursday and Friday featuring current and former students, professors and HBCU presidents. A fan festival, which will be held outside of RFK leading up to the 3:30 p.m. kickoff, will feature performances by Adrian Marcel, Eric Bellinger and Jeremih. The Howard and Morehouse marching bands will provide additional in-game entertainment. Tickets are available here.

Howard leads the all-time series against Morehouse 24-10-2.  Here’s the Post’s preview of their first meeting, a 10-0 Howard victory in October 1923.
