Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D) won't let a police detail drive him, but he has apparently been using officers as he trains with cycling team D.C. Velo, according to a report by WTOP investigative reporter Mark Segraves.
Segraves told D.C. Wire that he trailed Fenty, a triathlete, a dozen times over three months to get the story, which includes video showing the mayor and other cyclists using a police escort to run red lights. They even took their bikes on a road where bikes are prohibited, police escort in tow.
