Age Ain't Nothin' But A Number: A Wii for You, Me

D.C. Council member Mary M. Cheh (D-Ward 3) is donating today a Wii video game system to IONA Senior Services in her ward. Citing a Mayo Clinic report that shows that the game can help the elderly both physically and mentally, Cheh said in a media release that she wanted to share the technology with seniors.

"My office was lucky to be able to find an available Wii that we could donate to IONA," said Cheh. "I like the idea of implementing new technology that can contribute to keeping our elderly populations healthier and more active."

She will deliver the Wii, purchased with her constituent services funds, to the senior center at 2 p.m. Cheh also pushed for the center to receive $200,000 in city funds for renovations.
