Avoiding dispute repeat, Fenty delivers Nationals tickets to council -- early

There will not be a repeat of Ticketgate this spring.

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's administration delivered to D.C. Council members their baseball tickets to Nationals' Park Thursday morning - nearly a month before the team's first exhibition game on April 3.

In the past two seasons, spring was marked by Fenty holding on to the tickets, a rite that irked council members and did nothing to help relations between them and the mayor.

Here is the letter from City Administrator Neil O. Albert.
