Cheh Sets Oversight Hearing on OCTO and OCP

Council member Mary M. Cheh (D-Ward 3) is serious about her oversight role.

She announced this afternoon that the Committee on Government Operations and the Environment budget oversight hearing is set for Monday. That includes the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and the Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP).

Cheh's statement said the council member will question OCTO about the recent scandal involving Yusef Acar and OCP and about the donation of a District ambulance and fire engine to Peacaholics and the town of Sosua. Both issues, of course, have been at the center of controversy and the source of tensions between the legislative and executive branches.

The hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Monday in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building.
