D.C. youth agency names interim director

The board of the D.C. Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation announced Friday that Ellen London will be the organization's interim president and CEO while it undertakes a national search for a permanent director.

London replaces Millicent Williams, who has been nominated by Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D) to serve as a director of the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. Williams replaces Darrell Darnell, who has moved to the White House national security staff.

London who currently serves as vice president of communications and community engagement, starts her new role on Monday. The trust corporation is a public-private partnership that provided funds to 150 community based organizations last year.
