Fenty debuts negative ads targeting Gray's DHS record

Mayor Adrian Fenty's re-election campaign is debuting a pair of television ads taking direct aim at challenger Vincent Gray, the Post's Mike DeBonis reports.

Both ads begin with a Gray quote taken from a July 15 WPFW-FM radio debate: "I put my record up against his on any day."

Update 6:11 p.m.: An hour after the Fenty campaign unveiled its round of ads, the Gray campaign released a 60-second radio spot accusing the mayor of engaging of negative campaigning instead of working to solve unemployment.
