Fort Reno Park Reopens

Fort Reno Park in Northwest Washington was reopened today after officials said comprehensive tests at the 33-acre field found that arsenic levels in the soil are not at unsafe levels. The park near Woodrow Wilson Senior High School was abruptly closed May 14 after the U.S. Geological Survey reported finding excessive arsenic levels in the soil. But the USGS said yesterday that those earlier test results were a "false postive" and the more recent, more detail tests revealed no arsenic danger at the park.
