Gay Games Won't Be Held in the District

Despite traveling to Cologne, Germany, District government officials failed to persuade the Federation of Gay Games to hold its Gay Olympics in the District in 2014.

D.C. Council member David A. Catania (I-At Large) and Valerie Santos, deputy mayor for planning and economic development, were among the D.C. contingent in Germany on Tuesday when the federation chose Cleveland.

The District, Cleveland and Boston were the finalists.
