D.C. Council chairman and mayoral hopeful Vincent C. Gray has canceled his announced plans to release a public-safety plan Tuesday afternoon. Gray, who is challenging Mayor Adrian M. Fenty in the Sept. 14 Democratic primary, was scheduled to hold a press conference and release the proposal at the Boys & Girls Club on M Street, but his campaign said a scheduling conflict led to a delay in announcing the plan.
The postponement comes amid concerns among some supporters that Gray has been too slow to roll out his policy initiatives. So far, with the election three weeks away, Gray only has unveiled plans for education, economic development and job creation.
