Councilmembers Mary M. Cheh (D-Ward 3) and Jim Graham (D-Ward 1) are holding a joint oversight hearing tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the District Department of the Environment and DC Water and Sewer Authority to discuss lead contamination and the quality of the city's drinking water.
The hearing's focus is driven partly by a report recently released that raises questions on the number of DC children potentially poisoned by lead in the water between 2000-2003. The Washington Post wrote about the report as well as the science of lead poisoning.
Tomorrow's hearing, set in room Room 412 at the John A. Wilson Building, will be the first in a series on water quality, according to Cheh's office.
