The Pace Setter

We're back with this Monday morning feature after a bit of a hiatus (primarily because the Mayor Fenty's office stopped listing most of his competitive races on his weekend schedule). But Fenty was back in action Sunday in the Marine Corps Marathon, where he ran a personal best time or 3 hours, 37 minutes, 20 seconds. His previous best was 3:40:05 in the National Marathon last spring.

Fenty's time -- roughly an 8:30-minute per mile pace-- placed him 1,671st out of the 18,261 runners who finished. And it blew away the 4:10:50 he ran at the Marine Corps Marathon in 2007.
