Video: Fenty delivers 2010 State of the District Address

11 a.m.: And the speech is over. What did you think?

10:35 a.m.: In his pageboy cap, Burberry trench, navy suit and blue tie, Fenty appears more dapper than usual.

10:32 a.m.: In delivering his annual address at Deanwood, Fenty appears to be dismissing concerns that his administration favored friends and associates in awarding contracts. Busing in seniors shows that Fenty is likely targeting the reliable voters for his reelection bid.

10:27 a.m.: The audience for Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's State of the District Address is made up of dozens and dozens of seniors, bussed in by vans and larger vans.

Warnings are being given to seniors to watch their step at the still-under-construction Deanwood Recreation Center. Watch your step. Secure a hard hat if you want a tour later.

No sign of the mayor, but spotted immediately? Omar Karim, owner of Banneker Ventures, the firm at the center of the investigation into parks and recreation construction contracts. Though the D.C. Council stripped Banneker of its contract to oversee millions of dollars in construction, it stayed in charge of Deanwood, which was well under way.
