An hour before the big D.C. mayoral debate, signs for Mayor Adrian M. Fenty line Pennsylvania Avenue outside the Newseum and supporters of Council Chairman Vincent C. Gray have lined up early inside to try to get good seats in the auditorium.
Anticipating is building, as advisors for Gray check the stage, where the two candidates will stand behind podiums. The format for the debate, leading up to the Sept. 14 Democratic primary, will allow Fenty and Gray to use notes, but not blackberries -- a favorite tool for the mayor.
You'll be able to watch the debate live. It will be accompanied by live blogging by The Post's Mike DeBonis, who also will be Tweeting from the auditorium and taking readers' questions about the debate and the mayoral campaign afterward.
