Welcome to Election day, Washington

Good morning! The Capital Weather Gang forecast says it'll be a crisp but sunny day at the polls today in the District, where residents will be voting for their city council and mayor, board of education, delegate to Congress and a ballot initiative on whether their attorney general should be elected or appointed. Congressional races around the nation also will have an impact on what local priorities get funded, and whether any of the more progressive initiatives passed recently by D.C. government get shot down or defunded.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. today -- find your voting location here. The Post's voter's guide can provide a primer on the candidates.

We'll have updates throughout the day and evening here at the D.C. Wire blog and on our local homepage, including live results as the ballots are counted. You can also keep an eye on The Post's Mike DeBonis on Twitter.

We'd like your input too: Let us know what you're seeing out there at the polls or send in photos from the campaign trail.
